Steampunk Gear Box

Nothing like pulling off a very authentic looking steampunk piece - especially when it MOVES! This was one of the toughest prints we did between 2014 and 2015. We had printed it a few times in pure PLA but using the metallic filaments was the true holy grail and took nearly 40 hours to print and finish as each set of pieces was printed and finished separately. • Printer: Flashforge Creator Pro
• Filament: Colorfabb Bronzefill, Colorfabb Brassfill, Protopasta Magnetic Iron, Colorfabb Copperfill
• Layer Height: .2mm
• Walls: 6 (extra walls for tumbling)
• Infill: 20%
• Temperature: 205
• Speed: 45mm/s
• Bed: Glass
• Glue: Blue Masking Tape
• Supports: No
• Additional: Tumbled with steel shot, buffed and sanded with 120-600 grit sand paper, polished with mineral oil.
